Textiles

Armenia has an ancient tradition of textiles dating back to Biblical times, which are expressed in a wide range of materials and techniques reflecting both native resources and three millennia of trade with other cultures. Silks, wools, leathers, furs and other fine materials are embellished with embroideries, laces, delicate weavings and bold patterns. The textiles on rotating display at the Armenian Museum are drawn from one of the largest collection of Armenian textiles in the world outside of Armenia.
