Dudukner Ensemble & Arahet Choir

The Dudukner Ensemble was founded in 1998 by the prominent Armenian duduk player, Georgy Minasov (Minasyan). Utilizing a full array of duduks–soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass—Minasov’s group has developed the duduk beyond its traditional range and sound. The Dudukner Ensemble has performed all over the world, reinterpreting both secular and spiritual melodies from Armenia’s polyphonic musical heritage. They have also scored and arranged music for several critically acclaimed films, including three Komitas pieces for Isabel Bayrakdarian’s “A Long Journey Home.”

The Arahet Choir was founded in 2003 under the auspices of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. Founded by alumnus Tatyana Minasyan, the Choir performs a wide range of Armenian and European repertoire, including religious and folk arrangements from the likes of Komitas alongside compositions from living artists. The group has received awards at a number of international competitions in Switzerland, France, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Russia.

Our Bi-Monthly Hybrid Concert Series is free thanks to a generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation. The concert will be posted on Facebook (click "going" to receive a reminder), here on our website and YouTube channel.
